La situation exceptionnelle de cette archipel en fait un v\u00e9ritable sanctuaire marin, inscrit au patrimoine mondial. Midway est principalement habit\u00e9 par des albatros. Le photographe Chris Jordan s&rsquo;est rendu sur place en 2012 pour r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un documentaire, la trag\u00e9die qu&rsquo;il y filme contraste radicalement avec la beaut\u00e9 des lieux. Des milliers d&rsquo;oiseaux y meurent par inanition apr\u00e8s avoir ing\u00e9r\u00e9 des dizaines d&rsquo;objets en plastique.
